Le Paul Ricard <\/h3>\n

Le Paul Ricard est un voilier \u00e0 foils construit pour le navigateur \u00c9ric Tabarly. Il bat le record de la Travers\u00e9e de l’Atlantique en 1980. La coque centrale du voilier sera utilis\u00e9e pour la construction du C\u00f4te d’Or II en 1986.

La Transat en Double <\/h3>\n

Premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition : 1979 <\/h4>\n

La premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition marque les d\u00e9buts de la m\u00e9diatisation de la voile en France. C’est la premi\u00e8re fois dans une course au large que les bateaux embarquent une balise Argos. Les positions peuvent ainsi \u00eatre transmises \u00e0 la direction de course et au centre de presse7. En revanche, elles ne sont pas communiqu\u00e9es aux concurrents.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9part <\/h4>\n

Vingt-huit monocoques et onze trimarans (dont trois \u00e0 hydrofoils) vont prendre le d\u00e9part. Parmi ces 39 voiliers, celui qui suscite le plus la curiosit\u00e9 est le Paul Ricard d’\u00c9ric Tabarly et Marc Pajot, trimaran \u00e0 hydrofoils mis \u00e0 l’eau trois semaines plus t\u00f4t. Il n’est ni un hydropt\u00e8re comme on le croyait (il n’a pas de foil \u00e0 l’arri\u00e8re), ni un trimaran classique (\u00e0 bonne vitesse, le tout petit flotteur sous le vent ne repose pas sur l’eau). VSD, deuxi\u00e8me du nom, le trimaran d’Eug\u00e8ne Riguidel et de Gilles Gahinet, est plus l\u00e9ger. Il est lui aussi \u00e9quip\u00e9 de foils…
